Background:

Greater Portland Transit District METRO and project partners* are planning public transit improvements in Gorham, Westbrook, Portland and South Portland. A Transit West Task Force, with representatives from USM and communities along the proposed routes, along with stakeholders, has been formed to to plan aspects of the new service, which is scheduled to launch in August 2018.

Project Features:

Husky Line
Limited stop, higher speed service to the Town of Gorham and USM Gorham campus will also increase service in Westbrook and Brighton Ave. in Portland.


Blue Line
New bus route will directly connect northwest Portland and Westbrook with Maine Mall are of South Portland. 

USM U-Pass Program
METRO and USM will provide an transit pass program for students enrolled at USM.
