Background:
Greater Portland Transit District METRO and project partners are planning public transit improvements in Gorham, Westbrook, Portland and South Portland.
Service starts August 2018.

Segments north of downtown Westbrook on Cumberland St.,

Bridge St., Myrtle St., and Brown St. (The BLUE LINE will replace Route 4 in these areas)

Increased frequency to segments sound of downtown Westbrook,
on Mechanic St. and to IDEXX

Expand Route 4 to "Hamlet" mobile home park, south of IDEXX.

Hannaford Westbrook service on William Clarke Drive. 
Route will no longer provide service into plaza.

Transit West Task Force
A Transit West Task Force, with representatives from USM and communities along the proposed routes, has been formed to to plan aspects of the new service.

Project Features and Additional information:

Husky Line
Limited stop, higher speed service to the Town of Gorham and USM Gorham campus will also increase service in Westbrook and Brighton Ave. in Portland.

Blue Line
New bus route will directly connect northwest Portland and Westbrook with Maine Mall are of South Portland. 

USM U-Pass Program
METRO and USM will provide an transit pass program for students enrolled at USM.
