Background:
Greater Portland Transit District METRO and project partners are planning public transit improvements in Gorham, Westbrook, Portland and South Portland. This new service is scheduled to begin in August 2018.


Public Meetings
As part of the planning process, METRO is holding public meetings in each of the communities served by this new service.
This public planning process will inform and gather feedback on this new service

A Transit West Task Force, with representatives from USM and communities along the proposed routes, along with stakeholders, has been formed to to plan aspects of the new service.

Project Features and Additional information:

Husky Line
Limited stop, higher speed service to the Town of Gorham and USM Gorham campus will also increase service in Westbrook and Brighton Ave. in Portland.


Blue Line
New bus route will directly connect northwest Portland and Westbrook with Maine Mall are of South Portland. 

USM U-Pass Program
METRO and USM will provide an transit pass program for students enrolled at USM.
