Connect to other METRO routes, train service, Casco Bay Ferry and other regional transit options.
Cruise ship passengers and other vistors to the Greater Portland Region this summer and fall can take METRO Route #8 from the Casco Bay Ferry Terminal, Portland Ocean Terminal and Ocean Gateway to travel to Downtown Portland, the Arts District, West End, Old Portland and back to the waterfront.
The nearest bus stop to Ocean Gateway is at the corner of India and Commercial Street.
When large cruise ships (1000+ passengers) are berthed at Ocean Gateway, METRO will extend service to the stop at the Corner of Hancock and Thames Streets near Ocean Gateway. Regular METRO stops are located at Casco Bay Lines Ferry Terminal and the corner of India and Commercial Streets.

Regular fare is $1.50, Seniors and persons with disabilities ride for .75.
Day Passes are also available for $5 at the METRO Pulse at Elm Street (METRO's downown hub off Congress Street, across from the Library).
METRO Route #8A, the seasonal route that previously provided hop-on/hop-off service for cruise ships passengers, will not be available this year.
